In other news, David's away message says he was rejected by Columbia and Berkeley. My world ceases to make sense. However, I no longer take my rejection personally.

Holy shit Liz. He was rejected? WTF? what are they looking for then? I feel super bad about telling him repeatedly he was a shoe-in. But I really thought he was. I mean. Maybe admin got a lot tighter due to lean years? I was semi-operating under the assumption he may come here next year. Now I will have to change my orientation tone to something more personal. Draght.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I guess the quantifiable world does not understand David's obvious genius like the rest of us do, which is surprising and disappointing. I chatted with him a little bit, and he is still waiting to hear from SAIS and Harvard, but I think the ego has definitely taken a hit. He'll need a good pick me up tonight, that's for sure.
