So this weekend I participated in SIPA Follies; our artistic drunk fest making fun of ourselves. Incredibly fun. My act was live and the video isn't up yet but two of my favorite videos are so I thought I'd share them with you loves. A couple inside jokes but mostly just incredibly funny stuff (I'm so objective!)

New House!
It's official-- Jodi and I are moving to Mount Pleasant! We found a charming 4-bedroom house at 18th and Irving, and it's just beautiful. Deck, yard, porch, pool table. Can't wait to have a big barbeque there and invite you guys over!!
Ashley- I'm gonna be in New Orleans when you get back on the 15th. How long do you plan to be here? I wanna get some quality time in before you leave!

DUDE. I got it.
Ok Ladies,
It's official. I got my stats fellowship! Liz pre-announced but I wanted to wait til I had the contracts in my hands before posting the deets. One significant addendum: it's an all year contract which gives me not 20 but 40 grand!!!!!!! and makes me one of 12 students out of 500 plus to receive an all year TA ship! I am floored, shocked, and a little nervous. I had truly given up hope on winning this scholarship as you well know and frankly I am no more enlightened as to why he would pick me to TA when he has plenty of people to choose from who scored above the medium on the midterm. But this seems like a prime opportunity to shut up. I'm nervous because I will be teaching Stats 2 which is a little intense; especially since I haven't been to class in 3 weeks. Bet your ass I turn that ship around right now.

Ashley's the STATS LADY! WOOP WOOP!
Ashley is officially the Grand Vagina. 20 Grand later, she is on top of the world. Proud of you babe, and please share the good word with us once you have celebrated properly.
On a second note, we are planning another weekend at the beach, but this time boys are invited. May 21st, Perrin, Jenna, Ashley, grab a boy (or not) and let's head to the beach! Its going to be so fun, and it is the first weekend that Alex is in town, so please, the more the merrier. Let me know if you guys can make it. Luke and Farid are already locked in. So fun.

A bust and a boom

Miss you guys. So i got an answer on the 60 grand portuguese scholarship i was hoping for. No go. I was slightly floored both b/c of the amount at money at stake and the way I though it was really perfect for me and I genuinely had a shot. That means the two avenues I had sought for significant funding turned out to be busts for next year. Double whammy because I am laboring under this schedule of 18 creds precisely to go after them. But what can you do? C'est la vida. I killed a six pack and felt better. On a semi-related note, I ran a regression on some local data today on heavy and binge drinking and self reported health (which is widely acknowledged to correlate pretty well with actual health indicators) and check out what I found.
That's right all you Stata lovers. General health is the self-reported health where 1 is excellent and 5 is poor. Almost 20% of heavy drinker reported excellent health compared with %12 of non heavy drinkers while more non-drinkers reported poor health by a margin of %6. Validation station ladies. Roll with it. I know I will
